Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences has a strong research profile in Security. More than 80% of the third party research is allocated in the area of security. A number of high-profile projects, both national and international, are exectued, among otthers, the EU FP7 project OPTET and the BMBF projects Digiak and Digidak+- The university offers specialized master degrees and the opportunity for security-related cooperative Ph. D. programs together with universities nearby.
The research themes are centered around IT- and Information Security, especially IT forensics and secure software development, as well as business continuity management, robust engineering and human factor related security activities. The university brings all skills for executing cyber security research, notably related to critical infrastructures (energy, etc.).
There is a strong interdepartmental cooperation and the security activities are regularly exchanged between the different projects and the research department.
